I posted about NAB a while back and got a number of
responses, so I asked everyone interested to send me
email and I'd repost when the show got closer.
So far here's who's going to be there, taken from email
and posts on the list:
syndesis@beta.inc.net (Syndesis Corporation)
thierry@ix.netcom.com (Thierry Humeau)
Dave Gilinsky <dave@gaspra.pd.com>
Harv@cup.portal.com
CJTSUI@delphi.com
Eric Case <eric@bigdog.engr.arizona.edu>
Kim Thomas <kdthomas@netcom.netcom.com>
Brad Prosise <PROSISE%UTK_CTV%UTK_IPS%HUB%UTKVX@wpgate.utk.edu>
Dave <dave@melmac.umd.edu>
DONSMITH12@delphi.com
"Nash, Bruce" <NashB@ssdck-usassdc.army.mil>
ccai!paul@skybridge.SCL.CWRU.Edu (Paul Secunde)
Chua Kian Tong <ktchua@temasek.teleview.com.sg>
I'll be there April 10th-13th. The next step is to vote on
a day, a time, and a place. I'd be glad to compile votes
to keep list traffic down. Just email your votes and try
to make them as flexible as possible. If you know of
any times that would be especially _bad_ for LightWavers
due to some other conflicting event, let me know.
Here's my vote: meet after the show on the 10th, 11th
or 12th for dinner. Any place is fine with me, as long as
it's quiet enough to be able to talk. Walking distance from
the main hall would be nice. If there's some way to show
animation tapes, so much the better (if anyone has
any ideas about that or can bring a deck and monitor,
speak up).
The later in the week we meet the more we'll have to talk about,
as far as show breakthroughs and best-of-show nominations
(so we can inform everyone on the list who can't be there).
Here are a couple of suggestions I've received for a meeting
place:

Allen and Stuart, we'd all love to buy you dinner, so
send mail if you want to get together with some
loyal LightWavers. Let us know if there's a best day/time
for you guys.
Finally, here's some info Jim Plant posted on one of the
video newsgroups. I don't think I'll be there sunday, but
some of you guys might.

Oops, sorry...here's the scoop on NewTek-related events at NAB:
First off, NewTek will hold their traditional pre-NAB meetings for press,
dealers, developers and end users at Caesar's Palace on Sunday April 9.
The end user event (open to the public) will start at 5:00 PM. Call NewTek
customer service at 1-800-847-6111 for more information.
NewTek will, of course, have their usual large booth on the main NAB show
floor. They will be showing release versions of Flyer 4.0, Toaster System
4.0 and LightWave 4.0 on multiple platforms.
We we will be sponsoring a Video Toaster User Pavilion in the NAB Multimedia
World, featuring NewTek and a large number of 3rd-party LightWave, Toaster
and Flyer developers. Companies confirmed so far include: Airworks Media,
Amiga Library Services, Anti-Gravity Products, Aspen Systems, Avid Media
Group, Bushey Virtual Construction, Carrera Computers, CD Solutions,
Computer Basics, Desktop Images, DevWare Video, Impulse Inc., Noahji's,
NewTek, PreVue Technologies, RealSoft International, ShaBLAMM!, Village
Tronic Marketing....and more to come.
We will also be co-sponsoring, with NAB, a series of Toaster, Flyer and
LightWave training classes. Contact NAB directly for registration or
additional information. Their number is 1-202-429-4188. Their Fax-On-
Demand number (from the handset of your fax machine) is 310-216-1847.
Hope to CYA There...

Well that's the scoop so far. I'll be tied up at a shoot for
the next week or so, but I'll respond to all mail after that.
Happy Animating,
